Neil Chander creates abstract artwork from his studio based in Toronto, Canada.
Since starting his career as an artist in 2008, nature has always been a major source of inspiration for Neil. His passion for cycling, hiking, golfing, and other outdoor activities has particularly contributed to elements of his work throughout the years, taking on various styles, medium, and expressions. More recently, his work incorporates elements of his Hindu culture, history and background. This evolution allowed Neil to create works that challenge his ability and thought process by incorporating new concepts, techniques, and subject matter – a process that often leads to “happy accidents”!
Neil invites you to seek out the elements of nature in his work, expressed in oils and acrylics. In doing so, he hopes it brings you a sense of calmness and happiness…ultimately seeking beauty amongst the mundane.
Neil does not have a particular favourite artist – rather he pulls inspiration from many abstract painters, be it classics like Rothko, Riopelle, Newman, Harris, and the like, or any of the current talented artists on Instagram or at local art fairs.
Neil’s work has been featured in various art shows, including the Toronto Public Library, and has commissioned many works over the years.
