This painting is the fourteenth in the series COGLI L'ATTIMO.
I made this work on a wooden board, treated it with chalk which I then coloured blue, traced the outline of the painting with chalk, and only then did I start painting with oil colours.
I use oil colour by superimposing many very thin layers of appropriately diluted colour to create the effects I want.
For this work I chose as my subject a little cup that was so dear to my grandmother, it reminds me so much of her and I remember her gnarled peasant hands as she brought the cup to her lips with boiling coffee.
I have taken the cup out of its context to place it in a new dimension, that of memory.
I wish to express with this cycle of works the concept of seizing the moment, appreciating what one has, enjoying every moment that life offers us.
The work is framed with a white wooden frame and the dimensions of the work with the frame are 57 x 47 x 3.5 cm.

Nicoletta Bagatti was born in Parma, Italy, in 1968.
A self-taught artist, she has been able to express her thoughts and life through art since childhood.
She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Italy since 1999.
In 2004, she was chosen for a cultural exchange and in the summer of that year, she painted at the ART CENTER in Miami in the United States, working with artists from all over the world.
In 2009, his installation of the series '...A NUDO' was exhibited at the Lu.C.C.A. - Lucca Center Of Contemporary Art (Museum of Contemporary Art of Lucca).
Over the years, the artist's way of making art has changed a lot, but what has always remained constant is his modus operandi. He uses an ancient technique, that of oil painting, and takes care of every part of his works, starting with the construction of the support. She highlights the parts of the painting that she needs to express the message she wants and leaves others incomplete to give free interpretation to those who observe them.
The artist likes to work on themes, even very different ones, in which she puts all of herself in order to stimulate, without reserve, her imagination and that of the observer.
Through painting, she completely expresses herself, her inner world, her fears, her dreams.
