I'M IN LOVE WITH CARAVAGGIO'S WORKS

I was a child when images of the exhibition that was opening in Naples at that time were shown on television (in black and white): it was love at first sight.

I still remember how strongly my heart beat and the desire to get to know and see his works live definitely started that day.

I had a hard time choosing which work to reinterpret, so I started with the one we all know: CESTO DI FRUTTA.

I removed almost all the colours leaving only the mark, the shape, but then I could not resist and I coloured an apple, two grapes and part of the basket.
The image I created is suspended because I wanted to place that basket in the place of memory.

The work is signed on the back and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity

for shipment outside the EU we need to wait for authorisation from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and this may cause a delay of a few days

Artist Profile

Born: 1968

Hometown: Parma

Based in: Sorbolo Mezzani - PR

NOTE: I will be away from 1 to 29 August 2022

Nicoletta Bagatti was born in Parma, Italy, in 1968.

A self-taught artist, she has been able to express her thoughts and life through art since childhood.

She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Italy since 1999.
In 2004, she was chosen for a cultural exchange and in the summer of that year, she painted at the ART CENTER in Miami in the United States, working with artists from all over the world.
In 2009, his installation of the series '...A NUDO' was exhibited at the Lu.C.C.A. - Lucca Center Of Contemporary Art (Museum of Contemporary Art of Lucca).

Over the years, the artist's way of making art has changed a lot, but what has always remained constant is his modus operandi. He uses an ancient technique, that of oil painting, and takes care of every part of his works, starting with the construction of the support. She highlights the parts of the painting that she needs to express the message she wants and leaves others incomplete to give free interpretation to those who observe them.

The artist likes to work on themes, even very different ones, in which she puts all of herself in order to stimulate, without reserve, her imagination and that of the observer.
Through painting, she completely expresses herself, her inner world, her fears, her dreams.
