Artist Statement
Ocean liners are built to be seen in a horizontal position. But when we see one in a vertical position it turns into something else. A symbol of a lost by-gone era perhaps? Ot a picture of civilisation going under? It's all in the eyes of the beholder... (limited edition, E/A)

Artist Profile
Born: 1965
Hometown: Stockholm
Based in: Stockholm
Born and bred in Stockholm, Nils Lagergren has always been into creating art, and he had his firsts public exhibition in 2010. The "Vessels" art project is all about ships and shipwrecks and has been a part of his life ever since the early 1990s. In one part of this project - the "Ghost Fleet" project - Lagergren uses Nature as co-artist. He sinks the ships he builds and Nature transforms them to shipwrecks before they are salvaged (after 2-4 years) and reborn as sculptures and objects of art. His art piece"Ghost Liner" was one of the main attractions at the 2020 edition of the annual "Spring salon" ("Vårsalongen") at Liljevalchs Art Gallery in Stockholm - Sweden's largest jury-selected art show.
