Lives and Works: Singapore
Odelia Tang (b. 1993, Singapore) is a graduate from LASALLE College of the Arts with a Bachelor’s (hons) Degree in Fine Arts in 2018. Investigating the eastern and western philosophies of being and becoming,Tang’s art and research practice measure complex human emotions, into drawing, painting and installation, in order to question humanity's capacity to break through nuances and boundaries.
She believes in the unity of art and the inner frameworks of the brain, and seeks to document, define human concepts and constructs as a form of observation and question.
Tang first pursued her interest in fine arts in 2015 through NOISE: a youth mentorship programme under the National Arts Council Singapore, where her work was also showcased in its open category in subsequent years. Her works have been exhibited at PHUNK (2014), Art Seasons (2015), Mulan Gallery (2016), The Private Museum (2017), Coda Culture (2018) and Gillman Barracks, and have been featured on Intersections.sg,The Straits Times,Channel News Asia, Telegraph Uk, Zaobao, Angloino, Arthop and ArtRabbit.
