In my work, I combined the world of a big city, with its lights, advertising, variegation with artificial shades, with the natural world: a river, a coast, seagulls. Two textures, two dynamics and two color characters are separated by a bridge - unshakable and man-made, something that is created and controlled by man. Despite the fact that I focus exclusively on the color timbre of the environment, and with its help I rethink the surrounding nature, in this work I show the role of a person who today understands absolutely everything.
Based in: Krasnodar
« I translate the nature that surrounds me into volumetric structures. »
Olga Bezhina is a prizewinning Russian painter. She frequently works 'en plein air,' rethinking natural colors and capturing the optical effect of light and wind flowing. For her, the open air acts as a creative laboratory, where the search for the most advanced pictorial approaches is carried out and new solutions discovered. Her resulting paintings are full of rhythm, bold colors and a balance of strength and silence that directly reflects the majestic landscapes of the Taman Peninsula.
