Artist Statement

IconCaretDown

Representation of an insular and isolated space questioning the invisibility of certain territories. Natural colors, pronounced shades, marked contrasts, Olivia Babel creates a unique space, made up of different levels, masses and volumes. An isolated, natural and atypical space is presented.

Cartography, textiles, dyeing... Olivia Babel develops a universe imbued with unexpected associations, so as to create impactful, unique works that catch the eye.

The work is entirely embroidered by hand with lockstitch techniques, on manually bleached cotton fabrics. We have the combination of two-tone fabrics, cotton yarns and shiny yarns under plexiglass.

Unique, rare and exclusive piece.
30 hours of work.

With the frame 31 cm x 20 cm
