Reconstructing Mondrian: Split Mondrian (No:1), 2019
Chaos has already started!
Complexity of the contemporary culture can no longer spit a word to a system of patrons that overlays the imbalanced strata on to each other by the time, while selling so-called democracy.
Democracy has collapsed yesterday.
We live in a chaos. And we are the slaves of Capitalism, already realizing the democracy is only a shinny product covered with Barbie logo and supported with a Art deco column in the post-truth era.
And here I am… Splitting Mondrianist equilibrium…
Splitting Mondrian is an anarchist act.
It is a protest.
Towards a balanced compose of painting, Mondrian was one of our fathers counsel us to reach to a purified painting of the image.
Or a composition…
Or even a culture…
Neo-Plasticism illuminates an exact order.
It demonstrated equity. For the equivalence of the means of imaging in the composition indicates to everybody, rights of the same value differ though. Equilibrium, through a contrasting and neutralizing opposition, annihilates individuals as particular personalities and thus creates the future society as a true unity.
Natural appearance unveiled in art signifies more clarity in human consciousness in our time: that fulfils the human evolution!
Split Mondrian is the new image of the democracy in the post-truth era with its chaotic imbalance, expecting a shout from everyone to a system.

Artist Profile
Hometown: Ankara
Based in: Ankara - İstanbul - Berlin
Working on spatial and artistic practices, Otto Batuhan Türker produces approaches that define the representation of the idea with the construction process of the work. The process of construction as a result of the analysis / psychoanalysis of the object, the situation and the event bears the traces of the artist's deconstructionist attitude. The artist objectifies ‘the construction of perception’, ‘visual and kinesthetic experience’, ‘objects’ as well as ‘structures’ and the world of the built environment ; the social, economic and institutional approaches that relate the individual with these in terms of context with a rationalist style. The artist, who took part in the installations and exhibitions of artists such as Hale Tenger, Armin Linke, Turiya Magadlena at the 16th Istanbul Biennial (2019), was included in the Saatchi Art collection, curated by Megan Wright with 'Split Canvas: International Klein Blue' in July 2019. The artist, who opened his first solo show in METU in 2018 (May), was awarded by Architizer, ArtAnkara Contemporary Art Fair and ISMD. [Representing galleries: the Artling (Singapore), Singulart (Paris), Saatchi Art (London)]
Artist Statement: ''I confess, my soul does not fit in any academic formalism, including definitions to apply which motives the output that concretes in artisan’s hands. My soul addresses the spirit which comprises a body of data, extends beyond certain fundamental truths and dogmas that limit the artist within their fence. I cannot be taken shelter in the inhabitable shores since I have tasted experiences of any kind of intense pleasure that extends beyond the known. Experiences which are sexual, fetishistic, anarchistic, defensive, political et cetera. The artist’s real truth, the experience, is always in loop which starts from anywhere then falls into the endless abyss. As opposed to the definitions, I deny any information for the informations sake. To find my own truth… Which defines myself as an artist which is not in the dictionaries, but in life itself.''
