Artist statement
A halo is a group of atmospheric optical phenomena characterized by the appearance of a secondary glow around a light source, usually in the form of a circle, ring, arc, pillar of light, or "diamond dust.
A halo usually appears around the Sun or Moon, sometimes around other powerful light sources such as street lights. There are many types of halo, but all are caused mainly by ice crystals in puffy clouds in the upper troposphere at 5-10 km altitude.
The painting is done in acrylic paint and texture paste on canvas.
