Artist Statement
Environmental Project "Save the Planet" is my ecological vision of some problems on Planet Earth: real and imaginary, urgent and pending in time. I believe that art can draw people's attention to these problems. And maybe even save our planet!
The inspiration for this painting was the TV series "Fortitude," in which a terrible and sinister ancient virus is released from the ice. Maybe this story looks like real sci-fi, but now there is a growing concern about melting ice and then something similar might happen. And it would be a real disaster for all life on the planet! The painting is done with acrylic paints and with structural paste imitating ice.
The stamping technique used here is to use leftover paint from another painting. I call it waste-free technology and I love that as an ecologist, I do this.
