Artist Statement

I attempt to create spaces that are simultaneously physical and mental.
This is a large oil on deep edge canvas - gallery wrap - painting process extends to edges of canvas . Professional quality pigments and mediums are used to ensure longevity and lightfastness of colour and surface . High grade linen and sturdy warp resistant stretcher .The painting has evolved through an intuitive process inspired by colour , movement , music and the performative nature of painting - colours are selected to resonate on both an emotional and aesthetic level . The painting is constructed with an energising and harmonised palette of warm and soft hues built up with intense fields of bright pigment overlaid with soft veils of semi transparent glazes - the whole effect giving a dynamic impact which then draws the viewer in to subtly layered depths .
