Artist Statement

French artist and sculptor, Jean Dubuffet, put it this way, “For me, insanity is super sanity. The normal is psychotic. Normal means lack of imagination, lack of creativity.”
His idealistic approach to aesthetics embraced so-called "low art". Also, he firmly refrains from traditional standards of beauty in favour of what he believed to be a more
authentic approach to image-making. To many, this is insane. But to him, "insanity is super sanity". This is a triptych depicting fractured sanity perceived by the artist

notions of high culture, beauty, and good taste?

• Original mixed media acrylic triptych painting on stretched canvas
• Single piece dimension - 12" x 12" x 1.5" (30.5 x 30.5 x 3.5cm).
• Total dimension - 36"x12" (91.5 x 30.5 x 3.5cm)
