I took a photo of a blackbird sitting in a tree, turned it into negative by computer, and painted a pixelated version with oil on canvas

Hi, I'm Peter Buechler, a visual artist from Berlin, Germany. I started my career as a contemporary artist in the late 1980's as a young self-taught painter who had his eyes always wide open. After painting for decades, I discovered also digital techniques and could expand my range of artistic tools. I also tried to work on the border of both mediums: the analog painting and the chances of digital influence on it - so I painted so-called pixelated paintings for more than 10 years. Dividing parts (or also everything) of an image into little squares, so-called pixels like you can see that as a journalistic tool in the newspapers, I overpainted found portraits from Biedermeier or other different motifs.
Over the years I could develop this concept of manipulating found image and picture material, but also kept the changes I made visible.
My aim is to show the in-between every image these days has, it must not be what it looks like - it is more like what your experience tells you what it actually is.
So I turn every image into a subjective picture...
