About the art
Artist statement
The dry summer in Spain has inspired me to a series of paintings playing with the changing of the landscape, slowly growing from the fertile green till the burned out colors. In this particular painting we have reached midsummer. You are looking out over the crisp valley with its scarce green dots of vegetation. I am fascinated with the multitude of textures and colors nature always offers you.
The work is painted in many layers with spatula and knife, this gives a sculptural depth that produces life with the changes of the light.
The work is new and has not yet been exhibited.
