About the art
Artist statement
The photo is a red boat hull and its reflection on the surface of the water. It is strongly influenced in composition by US colourfield painter Mark Rothko’s work by one of the most important 21st Century designers, Joef Albers.
Land Escapes Series
The Redness in Reflection is part of the Land Escapes series. Land Escapes are distant horizons and earthly ecologies that can be found in the close-up detail of reflections. This wonderful world of shapes, colour, light and form on the surface of the water is a source for endless imagination and visual meditation.
