Artist Statement
This minimal and abstract artwork is based on the petals of the golden flower of Peru: the Sunflower. For this work, I study lines and their interactions by focusing on parallel lines.
Although the golden flower has different meanings across cultures, the Sunflower is known as a positive flower. Moreover, in some cultures, the golden flower has a spiritual meaning and its petals have been used for medical purposes until today.
