The stifling, suffocating nature of life itself comes to be expressed in this artwork, with the monochromatic use of colors that captures the cold duality of man, trapped between two states of being, neither of which can offer him an escape to the better existence.

Based in: Singapore
As a contemporary artist based in Singapore, Rashid renders his own visual and conceptual interpretations gleaned from observations of everyday life and modern culture.
Taking inspiration from Michelangelo, Carravagio, Pablo Picasso and Jeff Koons, Rashid absorbs everything that surrounds him. The nature of his work varies from time to time and is mostly rendered on canvas, paper and fabric.
Rashid works from his studio at home, often at odd hours while trying to capture the rush of blood to his head. To him, painting is like a dream, something that can be imagined in front of you. He believes that every house should have an art piece, because every house contains a dream.
