Artist Statement
Remi Delaplace works on the perception of space.
The perspective, the point of view are all elements that feed his reflection on the relationship to space. An idea of folded space..... His studies on 3d software lead him to a perfect construction of the painting.
In this painting Remi Delaplace creates a disturbance of perception by crossing lines.
Her practice of painting is intimately linked to the practice of dance improvisation.
His work is crossed by themes: gravitation, trajectory, levitation, fall... which come directly from "contact dance". It is about new ways of inhabiting the world, space. The issues of the event, the orientation, the situation of bodies and objects are played out.
In his paintings, he creates a spatiality that plays on the perception of near and far, the trajectories of bodies in space, the apprehension of the event.
