Artist Statement
This work was exhibited at the Arthothèque de Persan Beaumont, at the exhibition “What we see ourselves looks at” in Igny, at the “Embodiement” exhibition at Mitry Mory. Perspective, point of view are all elements that nourish his reflection on the relationship to space. Remi Delaplace's research focuses on the perception of space. This leads him to question the form of the work, its context, its reception by the spectator and its modes of creation. Working from the frame already inscribes creation in a field of reception, a convention given by the relationship of frontality between the spectator and the work. This relationship is the heir to a history of painting and representation directly resulting from the Italian theater where a place is attributed to the work and to the spectator. These paintings are part of a research where perspective is posed as a postulate in order to question the notions of representation of the form, the figurative, the frame.
