Artist statement
Both a personal testimony and a reflection on how the burden of war can haunt us, War Shadows is an innovative and nuanced exploration of humanity's past, present, and future. It is about the cost of war, the price of peace, and what we have to do to make both more possible.
It's sad to think that all the beauty of art will be gone as soon as we're gone. We'll never be able to see these beautiful things again. But it's not too late to enjoy them vicariously through oil on canvas. The only problem is, will it still feel the same when we're gone?
