Artist Statement

M+ is a new museum of modern art recently opened in Hong Kong and designed by the famous swiss architects Herzog & De Meuron; it is characterized by pure volumes, interesting facade patterns and monotone colors, offering great shooting opportunities for minimalist and abstract shots.
One of its facades in particular, is made by a vertical cladding of light concrete cylinders: in this double exposure shot I combined this pattern with 2 people passing in front of it, both walking their dogs. The interaction of the black gaps of the cladding with the silhouettes of the two people creates an interesting and almost surreal composition.

Limited edition of 15 printed on Pro Luster paper, 56x31 cm (comes with a white border for easy framing), with signed certificate of authenticity.
Available in larger sizes and other supports: if interested, please contact The Artling for quotation (delivery time may be longer in this case).

Artist Profile

Hometown: Taranto

Based in: Hong Kong

I'm an italian architect and photographer. The journey of my life had a big change around 10 years ago, when I decided to move to China for working reasons. Since then, my passion for photography exploded, due also to the infinite possibilities and scenarios that asian cities are able to offer.
When I moved to Hong Kong I started exploring this city through my lenses: my architecture background has for sure a lot of influence on my photography and I like to dig out the soul of this city and its archetypal elements with the use of bold colors and double exposure: nightscapes, cityscapes, architecture and more...in a neverending process of learning, improving and experimenting towards my vision of this crazy, yet breathtaking city.
