This painting is part of the artist's Contours Collection, which came to fruition during the 2020 quarantine and election cycle, when the artist was craving simpler, quieter color palettes and wanting to make productive usage of unused and surplus studio supplies.
Artworks begin with the shaping and layering of fabric remnants and abandoned canvases in organically inspired arrays. The dimensionally contrasting textured surfaces are then bathed in monochromatic and minimalist color. The constrained color approach allows the discreet textures and tones to feature more prominently, providing a subtle, sculptural effect.
This artwork is sold with a whitewashed float frame made of solid wood. The framed dimension are as listed; the unframed dimensions of the canvas are 30"w x 36"h x .75"d.

Stacey Warnix is an American lyrical abstraction painter who uses gestural methods to layer mixed media pigments and collage over raw textile grounds. She paints to escape a world of precision, finding respite in abstract forms, textures, and tones.
Interspersing pigment and collage layers of varying translucency over rough, nubby textile grounds, Warnix’s paintings feature gritty, tactile details and small imperfections that melt into subtle tonal variations and ethereal obscurity when viewed from a distance.
Warnix employs gestural abstraction methods to intentionally silence her perfectionist, detail-oriented tendencies. She approaches every artwork with flexibility and fluidity, starting with little more than a loosely defined concept or color scheme and relying on intuition and happenstance to shape the ultimate composition.
