About the art
Artist statement
I love Color Intensity | this series is inspired by the colorful work of a Rupprecht Geiger - they blaze and pulsate with the sheer power of colour. The contrast between a mix of pink | Orange (which combines to form a special red) and ultramarine blue are reminiscent of journeys to unknown places - as is the title of a Joni Mitchell song from her fantastic album "For the Roses". Whether it is suitable as a meditation picture is best for the viewer to decide for themselves on a dull day. Ultramarine as a color has accompanied me since my student days, when the powerful work of Yves Klein and this special color ULTRAMARIN entered my color palette. The use of pure, intense color / or as a pure pigment amazed and inspired me. Inspired by Rupprecht Geiger, Yves Klein and Mark Rothko.
