Artist Statement
Black ink ground with ivory black second layer that has been covered in a smooth layer of titanium white oil in an action painting way. The marks left by the action painting have been drawn over and into the paint creating a frozen impression of the action of painting. Resembling a minimal monochrome abstract landscape.

Graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art (painting and printmaking) in 1995. After which Stuart started to make installation and sound work culminating in CD releases for Seattle based label and/OAR (2004) and Spanish label Con-V (2005).
After making sound and object based installations in the late 00s, Stuart started to make painting and drawing as the main activity of his practice sometime around 2012. He currently live and work in Brighton on the south coast of the UK.
