Artist Statement
Monsoon is a seasonal reversing of wind direction accompanied by corresponding changes in precipitation but is now described as seasonal changes in atmospheric circulation and precipitation associated with the asymmetric heating of land and sea. Usually, the term monsoon is used to refer to the rainy phase of a seasonally changing pattern. This is a very happy moment for nature. Through this painting the artist tried to capture the beautiful moment - the smile of the flowers and the play of clouds which was actually done in transparent water colour.

Coming from a humble background and growing up in the outskirts of Kolkata, life has been quite simple and enjoyable despite of hardship. Passion for art has been a long-time affair for Subir Dey since childhood. So, after completing his Masters from Government College of Art and Craft he persuade his career as a freelance artist. The colour palate of his work is quite vibrant as he prefers using more of primary hues over secondary one which reflects the positivity that persists within himself yet there is a sense of solitude that goes hand in hand as he is apprehensive about this changing world of ours.
