Artist Statement
This painting is part of my 'SURFACES' series, inspired by memories hidden under the layers of successive experiences and emotions. Some of them are easy to recall and come to the surface in clear colors, others disappear in grays, whites, and blacks.
The painting was exhibited in 2018 during Home Expo event in Poland.
COLORS: Shades of grays, whites, blacks, with addition of mica and metallic colors (silver, gold, steel).
TECHNIQUE: The series is painted on the cotton+linen canvas; colors are mixed with glossy and matte mediums, metallic paints, sand, and mica. The appearance changes with movement and light. Please note: this series is created with unique technique including scratching off layers of paint - the canvas might have small, few-millimeter holes, invisible from the front, covered with heavy texture and paint.
The painting is signed on the back, varnished, has painted edges, no frame required. Ready to hang!
Painted by Sylwia Zolkiewska (certificate of authenticity attached).
