As you walk aimlessly through a rainforest, the gates of maternal love on Earth blossom. With each caress, the flame enters the body towards the marrow and makes the heart of Nature beat. The inner Tulpa becomes the Fire Serpent and begins the dance with Life. Invisible veins of the Web that feed on every breath and gasp, and thus the hidden messages of the ancient guardians flourish.
In my work, I speculate about the origin of certain daily practices, astrological events, or fictional stories. The scenes I draw arise from visions in conversations with sacred plants like Yagé, or from pictorial interpretations I make of my multifaceted identity. This search has led me to recognize myself as the meeting place of different worlds, such as the tradition inherited from my father as an Inga and my mother as a Wayuu and Arhuaca, and the socio-economic and cultural hyperactivity that I experience as a man in the Colombian capital. The scenes that I capture on paper or canvas are allegorical stories that I decide to carry with a feeling of joyful melancholy to give a personal and unique meaning to the condition of the contemporary human being.
