Artist statement
Thom Jopson (b. 1990) elevates the scale of his artworks to fantastical heights through mythos and surreal imagery. His work, "L'Absurde”, is a whirlwind of different figures and novelties of all sorts and is reminiscent of Dante's Inferno, the circles of hell. Jopson shines through his trippy art style, which feel like it's dissociated from the rest of the world, yet the subjects are so familiar to our histories.
