About the art
"Pa-Hay-Okey ", the title of this image means "River of grass" in the Native American language in the Everglades of southern Florida. The Everglades is one of my favorite nature subjects to photograph. This image shows the sawgrass typical of the area, springing up from the flowing waters of the Everglades. Below is an aerial view I took from a helicopter of a remote part of the Everglades. I have been focusing my photography on scenes of the Everglades and other subjects of natural beauty, particularly in Florida, to focus attention on its fragile, ever-changing beauty and the important role we humans play in the formula. I try to give my photographs a multi-faceted beauty that inspires participation in the ecological movement to save these preciously beautiful natural resources.
