Artist Statement
It looks like a destroyed wall. For me, walls, are like boards of remembrance, they contain everything from information, posters, dirt, or just some scratches from use. They are created and destroyed by nature, time or us (humans) and are like proof of our times, witnesses of time.
Made of many layers of plaster and concrete, paint and photographs on canvas. Made by my unique technique of layering plaster, concrete, choosing materials and destroying. It is made on canvas and stretched to frame. It has its own weight, but not so much. They can be comfortably hung on a wall.
I call them destructive expressionism paintings.

Artist Profile
Born: 1987
Hometown: Samorin
Based in: Bratislava
I live in Bratislava where I also create.
In my latest series of paintings, "Waves", I focus on destruction and extinction as a process of creation. That is why I create destructive - expressionist paintings reminiscent of old, ruined walls of buildings with many layers of plaster, which we see on the streets. They are like memorial plaques. They contain plaster, layers of paint, street art, posters, dirt, information. They are created and destroyed by man, time, or nature, and they are the proof and legacy of our time.
It is my own strong form of visual reference. It forms the natural backdrop of urban life, traces of civilization. In this universal form, I try to express myself to current problems. I give my view of the world, and I communicate opinions, observations, but also subjective thought processes or moods inspired by life.
By layering and subsequent destroying, I create a time axis, directed to the depth of the image, on which the contrasts of time meet precisely through the penetration of destruction and creation. By destroying what is at the top, I have the opportunity to go back to certain past moments that were important to me and put them into current contexts.
The paintings are created from many layers of plaster, concrete, asphalt, or other building materials, paints, posters and photographs on canvas using my own, unique layering technique, and subsequent destruction. In this way, I imitate the natural process of events in nature.
