Artist Statement
From girlhood I have had a deep connection with traditional Indian Ikat - the colors and patterns informed my sense of composition and imprinted my love of artisan traditions. I studied textile design and ran a successful business as a textile partner to couture fashion houses worldwide.
Now as I return to my first love - painting - the Ikat motifs are re-emerging, like a homecoming. This still life references those classical Ikat elements, joyous and free as if liberated from the elaborate ritual of textile and dye.

28" x 24.5" - Framed
22.5" x 18.75" - Unframed
