Artist Statement

The artwork includes the following semantic elements:
1. Matryoshka doll: Victoria Fomina feminizes the bald Japanese god of wisdom Daruma (who was depicted as a tumbler doll without arms and legs). And our doll stood up! And she can look at the world over the bald head of male chauvinism.
2. Unicorn: In ancient and medieval mythology he has cleansing and healing properties. A practical inflatable unicorn in this interpretation is the best friend of girls.
3. Salute stars: This is an allusion to the aphorism of Gautama Buddha: "... man is a diamond star with an infinite number of facets, each of them reflects the brilliance of all other stars "
A series of paintings "Myths" near of kin travel sketches of a happy journey through magical worlds, where the bright sun always shines, and sphinxes, angels and centaurs walk along the golden beaches. They create a new mood in the interior: the details of painting and graphics resonate with the real space, charging it with the solar energy of the artist's imagination. Fantastic images are set off by an academic drawing and colossal artistic erudition of Victoria. Her signature style is a mix of classicism, art deco, pop art and suprematism.
