About the art
Artist statement
This circular work draws the viewer in. The size of the pieces, the subtle movement from the darker centre out to the light larger pieces and the overall layout of the shapes play a role in creating a feeling of movement into the centre.
The textured black acrylic background give the vibrant colours their 'pop'.
The title comes from the sculpture' resemblance to an ocean/climate chart of a certain nature.
The sculpture is constructed using baltic birch ply of various thickness. The piece is painted with acrylic and has a matte finish.
