Artist Statement
The series "Lost Silence" (The Lost Silence of the Land) consists of 12 photographs, which I created in one day in November 2011 during a visit to the area of my childhood in Austria. The fog on the day allowed me to resurrect in my mind the scenery, which I remember from when I was a child, and to make it appear real.
The photographs deal with the loss of rural landscapes to residential spaces. They ask what do we see when we look? Limited edition prints first offered in October 2021.
Prints are produced in-house by myself on archival quality Awagami Kozo Thick White paper (110gsm) and ship in a box. They are unframed. The dimensions quoted are the size of the paper. There is a white margin around the actual image.
