Artist Statement
Frame size:50*63*4cm
The painting operates by the appropriation of fashion products and commodities. These products are redesigned and choreographed to form narrative environments. Explore consumerist culture, generation Z , and subtly convey the gender gaze. First of all, in creating this group of works, I established my own identity. I'm both Asian and queer. This unique identity allows me to convey my thoughts on gender in the process of creation. My work combines abstraction with concreteness to form paintings. Through the metaphor of objects, I implicitly express the pursuit of materialism and utilitarianism in the society of Generation Z. A series of issues, including the utilitarian pursuit of fame, fast and distorted love, and excessive dependence on the media, are implicitly reflected in my works. This group of works is presented in the way of limited prints to reveal the relationship between art, market and fashion. A profound revelation of the upper class' fetishes and control over aesthetics.
