Artist Statement
This is a recreation of a painting I came across online. I regret to say that I did not find out who the original painter is, but can only say that it must be a impressionism master. I love the composition and the brush work of the original painting, so I recreated it myself. The original one is with a dark background with dim light. In this recreation painting, I tried to give it a completely different feeling. I move the background to outdoors with natural sunshine, trying to give my audience a relax and enjoyable experience.

When I first tried out oil paintings few year ago, I was in love with this medium immediately. It complements my style in so many ways. I like to work with slightly dirtorted shapes to help express a mood or atmosphere, and also enjoy painting landscapes or still life in an impressionistic way.
