From the statement: "...The human is a key piece of my work. The squared figure is as built
up out of blocks of indeterminate material, associated to some with Lego blocks, but not
really them because of lack of cylindrical bumps. These blocks are rather close to voxels
(3D pixels) known through the popular videogame Minecraft. This analogy has a double
sense: firstly, it is associated with recently acquired men's addiction to the virtual world;
secondary, it is involved with our intellectual vestigiality, becoming obvious in comparison
with artificial intellect (even if they can’t really be compared for the moment because of our
limited knowledge on this subject), which augments because of the wild digitalization."

Yod was born in 1984 in Leningrad, Russia graduating from the French Poitiers Art School in 2010 when he presented his paintings from the Rectitude series at the Moscow Center of Modern Art exhibition curated by Vladimir Potapov. Yod desperately asks himself how painting can remain relevant in a hyper-digital age. In the Me. Human series Yod employs the 3D-modeling software and interactive panoramas, to create an under-drawing, and when he applies acrylic paint to the canvas in the traditional way, creating images that are both digital and analog.
The artist works under a pseudonym, and his images are incognito. Yod currently lives and works both in Russia and France, where he runs his two studios.
