From 17th February till 5th March 2017, PMQ and Urban Environment Design (UED) Magazine presents ’10 x 100 Exhibition – Hong Kong Edition’, an exhibition that brings together 100 well-known architectural projects of the past 10 years: 50 from Hong Kong and 50 from Mainland China. The exhibition aims to showcase the cities and their architecture – influenced and shaped by many different architects – with the goal of “fostering a dynamic dialogue between architects of the two regions”. It features projects from areas ranging from urban planning to architectural design, and even landscape design, highlighting the diverse achievements of both established and emerging architects at the forefront of the rapid urban development in China.

Established in 2010 as a site for creative industries uses, PMQ is a non-profit social enterprise that seeks to showcase Hong Kong’s high quality brands by building success in the international market, as well as elevate the appreciation of the value created by design and innovation. In 2004 Urban Environment Design (UED) Magazine was set up to “bear witness to the changes that were happening to Chinese architecture and architects, and to provide a window to the rest of the world.” Since then, the magazine has sought to bring in-depth literature on Chinese architects and architectural firms, as well as the broader investigation into architecture’s influence on society. Thus, ’10 x 100 Exhibition – Hong Kong Edition’ is very much aligned with the goals of both PMQ & UED Magazine.

To supplement the exhibition, a group of local and overseas guest speakers and architects will be invited to PMQ, where the exhibition is held, for a series of forums, among who will be Dr Rocco Yim, Mr Roan Ching Yueh and Professor Wong Weijen of HKU. Additionally, there will be a children’s section that offers the younger generation to understand architecture. The Archikidecture Kids Zone will host storytelling sessions and Shape our City, a workshop where children can create their ideal cities through collage.
