Following its successful launch in 2016, Gallery Weekend Kuala Lumpur (GWKL) returns for a second edition this year, celebrating the creative scene in Greater KL and marking Malaysia's 60th year of Independence! Described as "putting the Malaysian capital on the art map", the weekend will be buzzing with a wide range of open houses by galleries, instituitions and gourmet establishments spanning across the area, that will keep everyone on their toes as they travel from show to show.
Fortunately, GWKL's collaboration with GRAB does not only make Kuala Lumpur's visual art scene more accessible to the public, but it also increases the convenience of your travels around these art spots to make your gallery-hopping days smooth and hassle-free! (Promo code: GWKL2017).
Program highlights will include free admission to exhibitions, projects and previews by leading galleries such as Shalini Ganendra Fine Art (SGFA), G13, HOM Art Trans, Gallery Taksu, just to name a few. Complimentary curatorial tours and special access to prominent instituitions like Islamic Arts Museum, National Visual Arts Gallery, National Textile Museum and Soka Gakkai Foundation, are also organized for your viewing.
Additional to these gallery and institutional features, the prestigious Zain Azahari Collection, one of the most respected private collections of Malaysian Art, will have insightful and engaging tours open to the public daily!
