Step into a whimsical space of fantastical amalgamations of flying horses and faceless men that unveil the uncustomary means and mediums of expression through works by renowned artists such as Eko Nugroho, Entang Wiharso and Heri Dono - who have worked closely with the STPI Creative Workshop. Their unfamiliar effigies built upon alter-realities and imaginative personas do not only exist as a dosage of carnival-esque silliness, but also as visual emblems of statements about the culture of the world we live in.

Opening on 18 November, STPI Gallery proudly presents their first ever Indonesian group show, 'Allegories & Identities'.

Established in 2002, STPI is a dynamic creative workshop and contemporary art gallery that is committed to advocate the experimentation of print and paper as one of the most unconventional yet avant-garde mediums of artistic expression. They reside as the leading institution in Singapore that promotes the significant value of print and papermaking techniques to push boundaries and conventions in art.

STPI Gallery have decided this year to expand on their regular public programmes, artist collaborations and events to allow access to more hands-on experiences and acquired knowledge about the unique mediums to their viewers and visitors.

Hence, in line with the theme of FIFTEEN YEARS & MORE TO COME, this year sees a huge step for STPI as they hope to exhibit their endless pursuit of valiant and fearless creations through their public programme. There will be a string of exciting and engaging activities rolled out through the course of this very exhibition that are not to be missed!
