In October this year, Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design (HKAoD), a Hong Kong-registered charity, will be holding its 10th Anniversary Ambassadors' Ball, celebrating a decade of the Ball's fundraising efforts to support research grants, design and cultural projects. Supported by prominent designers, art collectors and icons of the creative scene, the net proceeds of the Ball will go towards Design Trust, an initiative of HKAoD.
Design Trust's mission is to support and encourage creative ventures, as well as nurture the development of design and innovation through project-based grants. They have just launched two new initiatives: Design Trust Futures Studio, a flagship programme involving workshops, discussions and conceptual design interventions, where established designers mentor nominated participants to showcase new ideas and works to the public; and a design curation fellowship with the Royal College of Art in London.

Each year, the Ambassadors' Ball is distinguished by a particular theme as set out by a local artist/designer appointed as that year's Creative Director for the fundraiser. This year will be no different, with a highly-anticipated collaboration between renowned architect and interior designer André Fu and emerging Chinese typography designer Adonian Chan.
Exclusively designed for this year's fete, Design Trust is bringing together the Creative Directors from previous years to create artworks as a tribute to this decade of achievements. Stanley Wong, Alan Chan, Douglas Young, Vivienne Tam, Neri & Hu, Joyce Wange, Adrian Wong and Stickyline are among the designers who have served as Creative Directors, all of whom will have artworks auctioned off at the Ball.
The Artling is proud to be a Media Partner to the Ambassadors' Ball 2017.
