Five Artists Art Lovers Should Follow on Instagram

1. Kara de Dios

Filipino artist, Kara de Dios, showcases various elements of her work in a playful and colourful manner. On her Instagram, she gives us a preview of some of her current paintings and illustrations that specifically focus female form. Her vibrant pieces attain a sense of translucency that give a beautiful delicate and iridescent quality to her work.

2. Jatinder Singh Durhailay

Jatinder Singh Durhailay’s images speak for themselves. His Instagram is stunningly laid out and composed of images that are a celebration of his heritage and culture. Not only does he showcase several of his paintings and sketches, but he also uploads photographs that take you back in time. Like much of his work, his Instagram depicts several aspects Indian and Sikh culture in a charming and bold manner.

3. Hendra “Hehe” Harsono

Hehe’s Instagram is as animated and lively as his work. Here, we are given the privilege of seeing more of his comical characters and the process of how these lovable creatures are created. Harsono also uploads photos of people and places that may have inspired him. From little doodles to larger paintings on recycled cardboard, his Instagram enables us to appreciate his work to a greater level.

4. Casper Kang

Casper Kang’s images are organised in a harmonious fashion. His pictures are uploaded as if they have been carefully curated and displayed in a gallery space. His photos seem to be clustered into groups of different themes in terms of colour or subject matter, making it aesthetically pleasing. It is clear that his play on Korean imagery creates a clean and refined quality to his work.

Leon Leong’s Instagram brings one on a journey through his camera lens. Powerful photographs captioned, “Subject for Inspiration” become conversation pieces. As an artist and globetrotter, we almost get to feel and taste the vibrant cities and towns encapsulated in his photographs.
