A 9-day marathon of art fairs, exhibitions, performances, and events drew to a close on the 27th of January. This year’s Singapore Art Week was a rollercoaster ride, to say the least, drawing international attention to our island state. A new art fair S.E.A. Focus saw a well-received first edition, and the loss of Art Stage saw the inception of ARTery as Art Outreach put a fair together in just 4 days.
All throughout this, aforementioned gallery openings, exhibitions, performances and fundraisers constituted towards the general buzz of Singapore Art Week. Hundreds packed out Gillman Barracks for the annual Art After Dark, Sullivan+Strumpf opened Lindy Lee’s solo show, Marc Straus and Richard Koh Fine Art hosted an art fair after party with White Label Records, Yanyun Chen and Priyageetha Dia win the Artist’s category at the IMPART Awards, with Kimberly Shen winning the Curator’s award, and The Artling’s Gallery Director Kim Tay was on a panel for buying art under $5k with THEO Art Professionals.
