The Artling Pop-Up 2017

The Artling is back for its third edition of our annual Pop-Up exhibition! This year, we'll have an even bigger and unprecedented line-up with over 80 artworks by some of the most promising artists under the age of 40 from 7 different countries. Held at Artspace@Helutrans (39 Keppel Rd, 089065) from 8 to 17 September 2017, The Artling Pop- Up is a key platform for emerging artists and contemporary art in Singapore and Asia.

This year’s exhibition prominently features Asian galleries and artists by shining the spotlight on their evocative art pieces, which run the gamut from paintings to ceramic sculptures. These works will be presented by prominent local and regional galleries renowned for their tasteful curation of contemporary artworks across Asia, such as FOST, Gajah Gallery, Ikkan Art Gallery, Pearl Lam Galleries, and STPI.

You can expect to see works by Ren Ri (Harbin, China), Maryanto (Jakarta, Indonesia), Teppei Kaneuji (Kyoto, Japan), Agan Harahap (Jakarta, Indonesia), Haffendi Anuar (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and Kang Jun Young (Seoul, South Korea). Their pieces will all be shoppable directly online via!

For the first time ever, visitors will be treated to a curated experience featuring design objects that are thoughtfully selected from The Artling’s recently launched Design section. The section will showcase a galore of inspiring and exquisite design objects and furniture items such as vases, lamps and chairs from established and emerging contemporary designers in the region, including works designed for contemporary furniture brand Industry+ by Ministry Of Design (Singapore) and Kazunaga Sakashita (Japan). In addition, we also have a special collection of vintage Scandinavian furniture, including some exclusive pieces from the 1960s!

We have also partnered with YH Conservation to host a complimentary Art Conservation & Restoration Workshop on Saturday, 16 September 2017 at 3pm. This is the first public event for YH Conservation, a joint venture between Helu-Trans and the Conservation Center of Cheng Shiu University in Taiwan, dedicated towards professional art conservation. Art lovers can look forward to an unrivalled learning opportunity through an hour-long workshop with Hera Chen, a professional conservator of paintings with a Masters in management of cultural and artistic events from the Institute Palazzo Spinelli for Art and Restoration in Florence, Italy.
