Entitled Assemblage: Reflections on ASEAN, this modern and contemporary art exhibition is co-organised by the ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN Foundation in partnership with Art Agenda, S.E.A., DayaLima, and UOB Indonesia. Held in its Jakarta HQ Secretariat, the exhibition is themed around the transformative advances that the ASEAN member countries and people have made through time.

The artworks showcased comprise of paintings on loan from prestigious private collections in the region and the collection of the ASEAN Secretariat. Along with that, an assemblage of sculptures by the emerging Indonesian contemporary artist, Hendra Priyandhani (b. 1981), have also been specially commissioned. The underlying theme of Priyandhani’s sculptures are a response to the visual and narrative contents of works from earlier generations that are exhibited alongside.
Assemblage: Reflections on ASEAN runs from 28 July - 31 August 2017 at ASEAN Gallery, located at Jalan Sisingamangaraja 70A, Jakarta. The exhibition is open Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Closed on Saturday, Sunday & public holidays unless by appointment. Admission is free.
