Artist Statement
Y is defined by the intuitive gesture of superimposing different metal plates on top of each other. Each plate arouses the feeling of laying softly on the others despite the strong joints. Under the top you can recognize two elements that make up the legs, generated by two slabs arranged parallely but inclined with different angles The smaller element is punctually approached exclu- sively to the other leg, separating itself from the top, giving stability but also tension between the different elements that make up the system. The apparent indeterminacy of the encounters between the slabs is the result of a complex process that allowed us to obtain a stable and re- movable table while maintaining a monolithic appearance. The table top can be easily dismoun- ted from the monolitic legs so it can be transported without taking up large spaces. The alu- minum structure can be coated with different finishing options ranging from aesthetically more industrial solutions such as delabrè steel to more sophisticated effects such as verdegris copper.
