Item Description
This sculptural drinking vessel is slip-cast from an intentionally broken plaster mold from which only a single cast is produced. The tinted porcelain product is left un-glazed (matte) on the outside whereas the interior is glazed with clear glaze (glossy).
The wall thickness is approximately 35mm.

Hae Won Sohn (b.1992, South Korea) is a Baltimore-based visual artist primarily working within the realm of sculpture and ceramics. Coming from Seoul, South Korea; Sohn earned her MFA at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Prior to Cranbrook, she achieved her BFA in Ceramics from the College of Design of Kookmin University located in Seoul.
Sohn was selected as a finalist for the Galerie Emerging Artist Award from Galerie Magazine (2019), and received the Tony Hepburn Scholarship and the Chrissy Award of the year of 2017 at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her work has been exhibited both in South Korea and throughout the States at venues including Emmanuel Barbault Gallery (New York, NY), Gray Contemporary (Houston, TX), Sculpture Space NYC (Long Island City, NY), MONO Practice (Baltimore, MD), David Salkin Creative (Chicago, IL) and Kyung-in Museum of Fine Art (Seoul, South Korea).
