Aluminum .025-Inch, Rhinestone Crystal Gem, Rose and Gold.
This series of works are made of metal, folded to create a portrait of the female. Adorned and unadorned with crystal gems, portraying both strength and vulnerability in their various forms. Referencing Greek and Roman Sculpture, the female body in movement and dance. These Folded Females explore questions about accepted ideals of beauty the process of folding and unfolding oneself in response to each moment of the human lived experience.
This sculptural form can be displayed on a tabletop, as a relief, or displayed as a mobile to gently turn and move through space as a feminine, elegant and graceful dance.

Heidi Lanino is a graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She was the recipient of a full-tuition merit scholarship and received her BFA in Fine Arts. Lanino studied drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. She frequently exhibits in the United States, and abroad.
