Artist Statement
Part of the award winning Stellar Collection - the Stellar Side Tables are inspired by the precious qualities of naturally forming amethyst geodes and machine cut diamonds. The large expansive surfaces on each table are in stark contrast to the turbulent seam of individually sized and angled mirrored sections that run through them.
This change in surface creates an optical dispersion that breaks down the light and the surrounding environment, delivering each piece to the eye as one sparkling entity. As the ambience of the environment changes throughout the day, so too does the colour and lustre of the tables, creating an ever changing focal point to a room.

Jake Phipps is a British designer who graduated from John Makepeace’s furniture design school, Parnham College, in 1999.
In 2005 he set up his own studio in London and began designing production pieces for a wide range of European manufacturers including Gebruder Thonet, Riva, Innermost, and Casamania.
