Artist Statement
The Peace Silk Collection
My design printed on peace silk connects us to the idea of peace and Ahimsa, which means "do no harm" in Indian.
Peace silk stands for the awareness of the intact cycle of nature. Each butterfly stays alive. It is released from its cocoon individually by hand and flies out into the light.
My shawl is an embrace without saying anything. The fine black lines are printed on georgette silk.
It symbolises peace, reconciliation and love.
